CUP FOR HIGH QUALITY PRODUCTS
For this year's 76th International Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad, in the
category of animal feed and based on the examined and evaluated samples
by quality evaluation committee, our company received the cup of Novi
Sad Fair for high quality products.
Large gold medal was awarded to our products: 'BF food for fattening
chickens' final in the pack of 25kg and' Kostan-vit' mineral-vitamin
premix for all types of animals in the pack of 2kg.

at the sixth Saint Sava gathering of young agriculturists
On 25th of January, in Belgrade Arena, our company as a sponsor and
exhibitor took the active part in traditional event, sixth Saint Sava
gathering of young agriculturists that was marketed under the slogan
"Golden soil - Land that I love"
This day was dedicated to meetings of young agriculturists and to all
those who respect, admire and appreciate the importance of agriculture
and its progress. Veterinary Medicine Institute Zemun also participated
as a member at the round table discussions with the subject: Can the
Serbian peasant become a farmer? We have also exhibited our products at
our fair stand and informed numerous interested participants on our
assortment and future plans.

ZEMUN participates at the International animal feed conference in
Moscow, Russian Federation
From 23rd to 26th of November 2008, International animal feed
conference, supported by the Russian Industrial Academy, took place in
Moscow. Our company participated through it’s representatives: Ljubisa
Veljovic, manager of control and quality and Oliver Zivolic, assistant
manager of the animal feed production.
Conference was important for both internal and international markets,
since it gathered numerous Russian experts. Representatives of
Veterinary Medicine Institute Zemun also met newly elected president of
Serbian Chamber of Commerce in Russia and received instructions and
procedures on trading with the Russian market.

ZEMUN – general sponsor at 20th annual meeting of veterinarians of
Serbia, hel at Zlatibor from 24-27 September 2008
In this special time that marks 70 years of Veterinary Medicine
Institute Zemun, we have been proud to sponsor 20th annual meeting of
Serbian veterinarians, traditionally held at Zlatibor in the last week
of September.
Organized by Serbian Veterinary Society and Faculty of veterinary
medicine, supported by Ministry of agriculture, forestry and water, our
company has appeared as the general sponsor to this emminent meeting
that gathered over 800 veterinary doctors
Our development representative, dr Nikola Knežević took part in
following discussions and lectures:
• Klostridial infections – retrospective and new discoveries (Bosiljka
Djuričić, Katrinka M., Knežević N)
• Biological characteristics in M.Aujeszky (Ercegovac breed) vaccine
Hyovet (N.Knežević)
• Saponins – for cure and immunity (N.Knežević, Irena Milosavljević,
M.Kirovski).
Results of the company involvement at this meeting are more than
obvious. Numerous new business contacts and reestablishement of old
ones, helps us to determine, with even greater precision, guidelines to
keeping our leading position in the market.

75th INTERNATIONAL AGRICULTURE
FAIR IN NOVI SAD
Veterinary Medicine Institute Zemun – double crowned champion
Grand trophy has been awarded to Veterinary Medicine Institute Zemun for
assortment and highest quality, but also for 70 years of leading
position in production of pharmaceuticals, vaccines and animal feed.
Veterinary Medicine Institute Zemun also collected 18 grand gold medals,
7 silver medals and 1 bronze medal for animal feed products.

10th EPIZOOTIOLOGICAL DAYS Tara
02.-05.04.2008.
Veterinary Medicine Institute Zemun has
again participated at 10th Epiozootiological days, organized by Zoonosis
Department of Serbian Veterinary Society, chair for infectious diseases
in animal and bee populations at Veterinary Medicine University, held at
Tara from 02 to 05. April 2008.
Dr Nikola Knezevic and Mr Marko Kirovski were presenting their research
works. Mr Marko Kirovski presented “Directives and suggestions to
control Anthrax in people and animals with special dedication to
vaccines and vaccinology”. This work showed results from controlling
process and efficiency of our vaccine Antravet (series 14), but also
directives and suggestions from WHO and importance and dangers of
Anthrax as a biological weapon. Work has a goal to initiate government
responsibilities on importance of production a veterinary vaccine for
our but also for neighboring countries. Production of this vaccine is
not a profitable venture because it is used with appearance of the
disease (Anthrax districts), and most of the scientific authorities
agree that it helped reducing a transfer to people and, in some
countries, eradication of the disease.

PARTICIPATION AT II VETERINARY
CONGRES OF REPUBLIKA SRPSKA
From 24th to
27th of October 2007, Veterinary Medicine Institute Zemun, Belgrade has
participated at the II Veterinary Congress of Republika Srpska as a
general sponsor. The congress was organized by Government of Republika
Srpska, Ministry of agriculture, forestry and water of Bosinan
Federation and the city of Banja Luka. Veterinary Medicine Institute
Zemun, Belgrade was represented by Nikola Knezevic DVM PhD, Branko
Kozlina DVM PhD, Ana Barac DVM, Petra Maricic B.Sc.Pharm and Aleksandar
Radjenovic DVM, who organized a noticeable presentation to all
interested guests.
At this congress, Veterinary Medicine Institute Zemun, Belgrade
presented its two scientific research works from the area of biological
production:
„Changes in antibodies in cats and dogs treated with RABIVET vaccine“and
„Standards of efficiency in TUBERKULIN-B PPD“
Due to this activity, numerous new contacts with veterinarians from
Republika Srpska were made, indicating a great potential for future
direct cooperation.

TWO GOLD
MEDALS AT INTERNATIONAL AGRICULTURE FAIR IN NOVI SAD
Veterinary Medicine Institute Zemun has
achieved major success at 74. International Agriculture Fair, held in
Novi Sad from 12th to 19th of May 2007. Two gold medals were awarded for
our Animal Feed and Food products: Poultry Premix 3% and Super Green
(supplement feed mixture for pigs). Those awards were gladly accepted
since they confirm our professional competence and encourage us to
proceed with development of competitive quality products.
As a result of our long experience, 70
years old tradition, knowledge and strong quality and safety policies in
all our production units, we have received trademark registrations for
following products:

VEHICLE FLEET
STRENGTHENED WITH 5 NEW BULK CARRIERS
 Surrounded
with increasing market competition and following our policy to deliver
products quickly and efficiently under principle "DOOR TO DOOR
DELIVERY", Veterinary Medicine Institute Zemun is constantly improving
its services and strengthening its vehicle fleet. Newcomers this time
are 5 bulk carriers, with individual maximum loads of 12 tones (3 x 4
tones). Bulk cargo chambers are situated on latest Mercedes Benz AXOR
2528-48 L6X2 trucks
Company is also implementing new software system for transport service
department, which is expected to increase its efficiency even further.

SERIES OF NEW INVESTMENTS IN
2006 AND 2007 AT VETERINARY MEDICINE INSTITUTE ZEMUN, Belgrade
Today,
within the dynamic growth of the private sector in the country and
trying to meet the market needs and demands, the
Veterinary Medicine Institute Zemun, Belgrade,
striving to conduct its business professionally and maintaining the
leading position at the domestic market, is building the foundation for
larger export of its products, based on the quality of the products and
services.
According to its strategic goals, the Veterinary
Medicine Institute Zemun, Belgrade
is increasing the competitive value of its products and services by
constant improvement of technological processes and product quality, as
well as continuous specialization of highly skilled experts.
Within these efforts, in September this year, the latest-generation
machine by the Italian manufacturer “Umbra Packing“, for the packing of
finished food with the capacity of 850 bags/h, was installed at the
Animal feed and food factory. This considerably enhances the production
capacity and quality of the finished product, according to the highest
standards and HACCP principles regarding animal feed safety.
There was also intensive investing in the car park, with the acquisition
of 3 freight vehicles, equipped with specialized modern technology: 2.5t
van with Thermo King, 5t truck with Thermo King, and 8.5t truck bulker
cistern with 10t trailer. This has considerably improved the
preservation during the distribution of medicines, vaccines and
diagnostic devices, as well as bulked animal feed to the final consumer,
according to “Good Distribution Practice” (GDP).
The maintaining of close and efficient relationship and communication
with the users of products and services of the
Veterinary Medicine Institute Zemun, Belgrade
was improved with the acquisition of 6 new passenger vehicles, which
enabled better and more effective service and higher level of education
of the customers.
The modernization of the working and production facilities was performed
by the completion of the first phase of the renovating of the
administrative building. This enabled the installation of a modern IT
digital-analogue telephone central, as well the “clever room”, which
raised the level of work performed by the employees at the
Veterinary Medicine Institute Zemun, Belgrade
to the highest currently possible level of equipment, efficacy and
commodity in the adequate working facilities.
The project of integrated IT-telecommunication system and structural
calibration, i.e. digital telephone and computer network with the
Intranet and Internet connection, is currently being realized at the
Veterinary Medicine Institute Zemun, Belgrade.
The entire system is connected with the electronic identification of
working hours and presence of employees and visitors at the Veterinary
Medicine Institute Zemun, Belgrade as well as the installation of a new
security and monitoring system, which will function through the use of a
modern system of remote video-surveillance via PC.

SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE PROJECT OF INTRODUCTION OF QUALITY
MANAGEMENT SYSTEM ACCORDING TO ISO 9001-2000 STANDARD WITH DEVELOPMENT
AND HACCP PRINCIPLES, AS PRECONDITION FOR THE ONGOING PROJECT OF
INTRODUCTION OF GMP AND GLP CONDITIONS IN PRODUCTION FACILITIES AND
LABORATORIES
The
Veterinary Medicine Institute Zemun, Belgrade primarily sees the
valorization of unused development and production potentials through
constant maintenance and improvement of the quality of its products and
services at the level of world’s renowned manufacturers in the field of
veterinary medicine and animal feed, with competitive prices.
Consequent application of the quality management system according to ISO
9001-2000 standard and HACCP principles and unconditional aspiring
towards Total Quality Management, has enabled the Veterinary Medicine
Institute Zemun, Belgrade, as a unique manufacturer of animal feed,
veterinary medicines, vaccines and diagnostic devices for the use in
veterinary medicine, to successfully perform the certification check of
the standardized quality management system.

With intensive expert prevention against avian influenza and
carcinogenic diseases
Veterinary
Medicine Institute Zemun, Belgrade, as
the most prominent and largest manufacturer of animal feed and
supplements, veterinary vaccines and medications, gives its full
contribution to the general health of animals and people in the
prevention of avian influenza and carcinogenic diseases in people.
Through the expert lecture and consultations with professor Peter Surai
from Scottish Agricultural College, who is also a part-time and guest
professor at several international agricultural and medical universities
in the fields of nutrition and physiology, as well as the expert
consultant for Alltech®, one of the world's leading producers of
biotechnological products, the experts from
Veterinary
Medicine Institute Zemun, Belgrade had a chance to get better acquainted with global
research methods and trends, as well as to exchange experiences with
professor Peter Surai and the achievements of Alltech®.
Professor Peter Surai is a scientist who performed numerous studies on
organically bound selenium and vitamin E in the nutrition of poultry and
other domestic animals, with the emphasis on their role as antioxidants,
in the increase of immunity levels, reduced possibility of viral
mutation and the achievement of much better production and health
results in the breeding of domestic animals.
By the disposal of organically bound selenium in meat, milk and eggs,
the prevention is achieved against the appearance of carcinogenic
diseases in people, since it has been proven that we are among the
countries whose population does not receive basic requirements of
selenium through regular food.
After the presentation and active discussion with the experts from
Veterinary
Medicine Institute Zemun, Belgrade and their expertise in production,
practical and laboratory work, an inspection was performed of all
aspects, possibilities and perspectives which Veterinary Medicine
Institute Inc. has at its disposal in the production of healthy animal
food, which has a direct contribution to healthy human nutrition.
The conclusion that the achieved quality is the product of joint
intellectual and physical effort and collaboration with globally

The Consortium 'Zekstra - Bankom' became the owner of 70% of public capital, in fact, 76.34% of voting shares of the
Veterinary
Medicine Institute Zemun, Belgrade. Constant improvement, research and development, expansion of product assortment, responsibility and high standards in product quality was what had secured the position of the Veterinary Medicine Institute Inc. Zemun as a leader for almost 70 years.
